Startup Next, the pre-accelerator initiative led UP Global with the support of Google for Entrepreneurs, is coming to Barcelona and Madrid in the next few weeks. The program is aimed at teams and young startups and consists of 3-hour weekly sessions for 5 weeks with mentors from both local startup ecosystems.
The deadline for Barcelona’s program finishes today (so hurry up if you want to participate) and for Madrid the teams have until October 28th to sign up.
The main objective of Startup Next is to help teams refine their products and services in order to a apply to established accelerators such as Techstars, 500 Startups, Wayra and many others. Winners will get two spend two days in Silicon Valley and get exposure through demo days and special events. Accepted teams must pay €200 per team member and the program does not take any equity.
Here’s a list of the requirements teams should meet:
- No solo founder teams (2-4 founders per team).
- Startups must be working on a “unique technology-enabled startup idea” and attacking a “big market”.
- Teams should have an MVP ready: “we want teams at more than just an idea stage”.
- Some level of previous customer validation.
Startup Next Barcelona will take place from October 31 to December 12 at Itnig and Madrid’s will run from November 4 to December 23 at Wayra. All sessions start at around 18:00, once a week and for 5 weeks.
