Playoffnations, a Spanish company specializing in unconventional media, has raised €1 million in an investment round led by Angels, the investment company of Juan Roig.
Other investors, including Tom Horsey and Albert Botet, also participated in the round.
Thanks to this investment boost, Playoffnations plans to expand its presence in Latin America and the United States by increasing its human and technological capital while consolidating its position in Spain.
According to Marc Pérez Miralles, the CEO of Playoffnations, “This investment not only allows us to accelerate our growth, but also to strengthen our leadership in new advertising media and, specifically, in the metaverse, in which we are pioneers.”
The virtual boost
Playoffnations’ expertise lies in utilizing technology, gamification, and creativity to boost brands’ presence in virtual spaces, including the metaverse.
The company has been responsible for the successful entry of leading brands such as Pringles, Springfield, ChocoFlakes, and Mediamarkt into virtual spaces.
Pepe Peris, CEO of Angels, explains, “The new digital communication channels are evolving exponentially in recent years, and Playoffnations, led by Marc Perez, detected the opportunity and is knowing how to interpret it to position companies with products and services focused on their growing audiences.”
This investment is a significant milestone for Playoffnations, which had previously gone through the accelerator of Marina de Empresas, Lanzadera, and been a teacher at EDEM, the university of Marina de Empresas.
