- May 22, 2018

Online driver’s licensing and training startup Dribo takes home the SeedRocket XIX Campus de Emprendedores prize, with Fluttr and Arbor Fintech taking second and third place respectively.

The SeedRocket selection jury chose Dribo as the most impressive startup on display at the SeedRocket XIX Campus de Emprendedores while also choosing two runners-up that will participate in the SeedRocket accelerator to see their startup projects through to full fruition.

“We are very grateful to SeedRocket and all the mentors who have taught us so much in such a short time, it has been a great experience,” said Enric Romero, CEO and Co-Founder at Dribo.

The top three winners were:

  1. Dribo – an app that allows users to get their driver’s licenses directly from their mobile phone and in a faster, more convenient and more affordable way than the conventional one.
  2. Fluttr – the Applicant Assessment System (AAS) that helps you make better hiring decisions using data, gamification, and machine learning.
  3. Arbor Fintech – an optimization platform for savings, which helps its users to save automatically and recurrently.

The winning startups will be installed in the SeedRocket accelerator, being able to choose between the headquarters of Barcelona (located in Barcelona Activa) or Madrid (located in Google Campus) to continue with the acceleration phase.

Campus de Emprendedores, which took place from May 15-18 in Barcelona this year, is a training event for startups and an access channel for business angels to invest in the best ICT projects of the moment.

It is the most important event that SeedRocket puts on. It consists of four days of training presentations given by mentors and professionals within the Internet sector, as well as mentoring sessions.

For the past 10 years, SeedRocket has supported entrepreneurs in their early stages, some of which have become large Internet companies, such as Deporvillage, Ulabox, Rural Escape, reclamador, Habitissimo, and Captio.

Earlier this year, Dribo closed its first round of financing with a total of €250,000 between public and private backers.

With the aim of democratizing the market while updating and modernizing the sector, Dribo was looking to use the funds to facilitate and transform access to mobility in a sustainable and safe way by personalizing and digitizing the driver learning process

With more than 8,000 registered downloads in just three months, Dribo intends to offer an innovative digital solution in Europe, presenting its own unique methods, including gamification.

Dribo is based on optimizing the whole process of obtaining the driver’s license, since the theoretical part is done through the app (mLearning), while the practice through own vehicles and agreements with driving schools (marketplace).

The startup offers between 40% and 60% savings compared with official driving schools, and it charges €149 through the mobile app.

The app, available on Google Play, contains all the official content of the updated DGT (Dirección General de Tráfico) and more than 3,000 exam questions.

The platform allows users to study, prepare, take the written test, and apply for the actual driving test at a registered office.
