AI, GDPR and Digital Transformation will be focus at DES Madrid political debate

The Digital Enterprise Show (DES) taking place in Madrid May 22-24 will have a political debate focused around digital transformation in AI, cybersecurity, and GDPR.

With Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, and the new GDPR regulations being a major focus, DES will bring together the greatest minds in their respective industries to hash out technological solutions that are driving the development of new business models such as the IoT, cloud, big data, cybersecurity, blockchain, and digital marketing, among others.

More than 18,000 professionals and executives will attend DES to find the proposals and solutions from the most innovative technological companies and consultancies in the world, which will help them in their process of digital transformation.

International firms from the US, India, Mexico and China have chosen DES as their great global platform to present technological solutions to improve competitiveness and discover new business models for companies and large corporations.

“This edition is designed to continue deepening the necessary knowledge required by managers and leaders of public administrations to face the process of digitization and modernization of business models that are essential to improving the competitiveness of our economy,” said Lluis Altés, Managing Director at DES Madrid 2018.

“This year we want to highlight the fact that digitization is here, it is unstoppable, and we have to prepare ourselves to take advantage of the opportunities it offers to boost the economy,” he added.

Debuting at this years edition of DES will be the The AInomics forum on Artificial Intelligence.

Artificial Intelligence

The AInomics forum, which combines the experience and knowledge from leading experts at the international level, will focus on three main areas, starting with the strategic aspects of AI, its practical applications, and the debate of ethical issues surrounding smart technologies.

Artificial Intelligence and its impact on business and the global economy will be one of the central themes of the next edition of DES 2018. Over two days, from May 23 to 24, cognitive technologies such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, natural language processing, automated reasoning, voice recognition, artificial vision and robotics will be addressed.

With more than 10 hours of content, attendees can share the knowledge of top-level speakers and be inspired by the latest Artificial Intelligence applications that are expanding faster and faster through innovative and unique business architectures.

Among the experts who will participate in The AInomics is Professor Stuart Russell. He is the Vice President of the Council on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics of the World Economic Forum. Professor Russell is also the author of numerous studies and publications and co-author, along with Peter Norvig, of the world reference book on AI, “Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach.”

GDPR and Cybersecurity

The new GDPR regulations will come into effect the day after DES 2018 closes its doors, and it will be one of the main themes of this year’s edition.

Within the framework of the Digital Business World Congress, the new GDPR law will be addressed from different points of interest, such as cybersecurity, with the challenges of this law and those that companies will have to face.

These challenges range from a more technical point of view to a programmatic level, as well as the legal perspective with debates on different interpretations of the regulation itself by legal experts.

The Digital Agenda for Spain and the digitalization of Public Administrations will drive the debate in which the leaders of the main Spanish political groups that are promoting the digital transformation will participate.

These political leaders include Francisco Polo, of the PSOE, Susana Solís de Ciudadanos, and Segundo González de Podemos.

“The digital transformation of the economy is a key piece for the development of a modern and competitive economy,” said Luis Cueto, Chief Coordinator of the Mayor’s Office in Madrid.

“The digitization of information, processes and transactions is an unstoppable trend that affects all spheres of activity and requires decisive action on the part of the Administrations to facilitate the transition from a traditional economy to a digitized economy. In that sense, the attitude of the City Council is determined and firm.”

As a guest country in this year’s DES Madrid edition, India will exhibit IT solutions and business models that are revolutionizing its business fabric and that have become the economic engine of the country.

Indian talent and innovation will be the heart of this edition of the Digital Business World Congress. The country has made a real economic transformation based on the technological industry, which has changed the perception of India in the international arena.

It is currently one of the fastest growing IT markets and has more than 4,750 technology companies, the highest number in the world after the United States and Great Britain.

The Indian delegation will have a strong representation of innovative companies during the three days of the event with the aim of promoting the generation of commercial exchanges with the attendees. Among them are leading IT firms such as UST-Global, Wipro, Zoho, Tata, Infosys, TCS, and Tech Mahindra.

More than 450 international speakers will present across 200 conferences over the course of three days in May.
