Nisum has appointed technology industry veteran Anurag Chauhan as its new CEO, marking a leadership transition for the company more than 25 years after founder Imtiaz Mohammady launched the business.
Mohammady, who has led Nisum since its founding in 2000, will become chairman and remain involved in the company’s long-term strategy and direction.
Chauhan joins Nisum with more than three decades of experience in technology services and business transformation. His previous roles include leadership positions at Motorola, Accenture and Coforge. Most recently, he served as CEO and president of Nous Infosystems.
The incoming CEO has experience leading global teams, developing client relationships and scaling technology services businesses.
His appointment comes as Nisum looks to build on its existing capabilities while expanding its work in artificial intelligence, data, digital platforms and technology modernization.
“When we started Nisum in 2000, we set out to build a company that could grow beyond any one individual while staying true to its people, its clients, and its values,” Mohammady said.
The founder described Chauhan as the right leader to take the company into its next phase while maintaining the foundation Nisum has built over the past two decades.
For Chauhan, the transition will initially involve understanding the company’s teams and customers.
“What stands out to me is the strength of its people, the depth of its client relationships, and a culture built around delivering meaningful outcomes,” he said.
He added that his first priority would be to listen and learn from Nisum’s teams and clients before building on the company’s existing foundation.
The leadership change comes at a time when enterprise technology providers are adapting to the rapid adoption of AI.
Businesses are increasingly seeking partners that can combine engineering expertise with an understanding of their broader business objectives, particularly as they move from AI experimentation toward practical applications.
Nisum says Chauhan will focus on strengthening client relationships, expanding its global capabilities and identifying new opportunities across the company’s offices and delivery centers.
Mohammady’s move to chairman also allows the founder to remain involved in the company’s long-term direction while handing day-to-day executive leadership to Chauhan.
The transition represents a new chapter for Nisum as it seeks to expand its technology capabilities while maintaining the client relationships and company culture established under its founder.
