GROW YOUR STARTUP IN EUROPE

How new software is leading the charge for climate action worldwide

- March 25, 2024

As the capabilities of AI continue to evolve and reach impressive new milestones, it’s increasingly clear that technology can be a force for good. Reducing carbon emissions and helping society become more sustainable is an area in which tools like AI can be leveraged.

To give an example, among the many projects being explored by the Alan Turning Institute is one using advances in spatial data science and AI to process huge volumes of information to make land development in urban and rural areas more efficient and sustainable.

When it comes to business and commercial endeavors, rules around regulations for EU and UK companies face much more stringent standards as of 2023 when it comes to advertising. This will mean climate claims such as ‘carbon neutral’ or ‘environmentally friendly’ used to promote commercial goods or services can’t be misleading.

This marks a major step forward for climate action in Europe and will ensure that marketing teams will need to work with sustainability consultants more closely.

However, when it comes to proving whether a company adheres to its own Environmental, Sustainability and Governance (ESG) policies, or where its supply chain ranks on the pollution scale, the task isn’t straightforward.

Projects like the B Corp movement are helping to define social, environmental, and governance best practices for businesses, but without the right technology in place to monitor performance these guidance frameworks risk falling short.

Jitesh Shetty, Sushil Choudhari, Parth Patil and Ravi Agrawal founded Credibl to offer commercial partners with AI and data analytic tools, such of those being developed for high-level public projects, to accelerate the pace of climate action.

The startup understands that sustainability is no longer an option for companies. It offers an AI-powered ESG data management software & reporting platform to measure, manage and track data across a range of complex metrics.

This means companies can understand how close they are to reaching their sustainability targets and make adjustments where necessary. Having such powerful data insights will also ensure that companies can avoid falling foul of the stringent new advertising regulations across the globe by understanding exactly how green their supply chain is or how much carbon emissions each product line is responsible for producing.

The platform also offers an ESG virtual assistant, automatic peer benchmarking and variance analysis that spots manual mistakes.  In turn, with transparent, accurate reports to hand, companies can build trust and authenticity with investors, stakeholders and clients.

Innovative tools like Credibl’s platform highlight the powerful impact technology can have on sustainability. These powerful technologies can also help us see into the future, bringing together large amounts of information from different sources to model scenarios and understand complex global systems to make the changes we need to develop new ways of living and working in the future.
