Female-founded Vagy announces sustainable feminine product, subscription launch

- September 11, 2018

Created by three Spanish female entrepreneurs, Vagy announces its “Vagy Box” product and subscription launch, offering personalized and sustainable feminine products in the service of women’s menstruation.

Vagy is a project created by women for women, with the mission to fight against taboos and stigma around menstruation through sustainable hygiene products, made of 100% certified organic cotton that are biodegradable, hypoallergenic, and free of chemicals and synthetic fibers.

“Our mission is to celebrate menstruation, to overthrow topics of feminine hygiene labeled as taboo (that which is not spoken) and to convert terms like vagina, menstruation, period, and clitoris, into [commonly] spoken nouns,” said Elena Jin, CEO of Vagy.

“We can all talk about our periods without ‘showing’ weakness, because there is nothing stronger than ‘showing’ ourselves as one in the same,” she added.

The Spanish startup was launched in July of this year, but the announcement from the company arrived today.

Vagy uses the slogan “Celebrate Your Menstruation” to promote its mission of a more conscious and sustainable world without taboos, and to revolutionize the industry of feminine hygiene while making women’s lives more comfortable.

How the Vagy Platform Works

The “Vagy Box” subscription comes in two options:

    1. BASIC KIT: presents the essential products for periods including tampons, pads, and panty liners.
    2. COMFORT KIT: contains the same as the BASIC KIT, but with extra tampons, pads, panty liners, and eco-wipes.

Both kits are accompanied by candies and “surprise gifts” to offer a complete experience.

Towards the end of 2018, Vagy plans to launch its app using artificial intelligence to respond to the different cycles of each woman and to further personalize its service. Thus, introducing certain personal data, the app will combine an advanced algorithm and the input of gynecologists so that the “Vagy Box” arrives at the right time and with the content best adapted to the menstruation of each woman.

For example, in periods with certain pathologies, the content may have products that alleviate their symptoms. The diversification that Vagy plans for 2019 aims to cover all the needs of intimate female health with the most hygienic products on the market.

The women met after having been selected as entrepreneurial talents in the AllStartup event of the Demium Startups incubator.

All three were convinced to undertake the idea that added a grain of sand to a social purpose to make our society a better place where we would all be more responsible with the future.

Vagy was born with the purpose of defending, disseminating and making accessible the use of sustainable and ecological hygienic products through an online platform that offers a more comfortable, healthy and personal way to experience menstruation.

Uniting the fight against plastic, the taboo of menstruation, and the toxins in feminine hygiene products, Vagy was born — a project that proposes feminine hygiene products of an organic nature for a healthier and more sustainable menstruation.
