- June 28, 2018

Urbanitae, a Spanish startup specializing in crowdfunding of large real estate projects, closes an investment round worth close to €1 million.

With K Fund, All Iron Ventures, and Viriditas Ventures backing this round, Urbanitae’s capital increase will continue with its main objective to position itself within the proptech and national real estate crowdfunding sectors through a unique and differential real estate asset typology, Spanish media reported on Wednesday.

Urbanitae is a new initiative of the proptech sector and the first Spanish real estate crowdfunding company that offers real estate projects to any citizen, which is normally reserved for professionals in the sector.

Founded in 2017 the platform, which unites many small investors so they can access outstanding assets through collaborative investment, plans to receive the definitive license of the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) to open its platform to the public in the coming months.

“Until now, the best real estate opportunities were beyond the reach of the retail investor, requiring a very high volume of investment to access,” said Diego Bestard, CEO at Urbanitae.

“In Urbanitae we have been clear from the beginning that bringing together many investors allows us to have the financial and operational muscle to compete with the great professional investors, creating a new ‘player’ in what has been a quite private and small club,” he added.

For investors in this round, Urbanitae is one of the most solvent bets in the proptech sector, endorsed by a team of specialized professionals with extensive expertise in the real estate and technology sector that also provides access to investment opportunities with high profitability.

“The platform is the present and the future of real estate crowdfunding due to its commitment to transparency, excellence and rigor throughout the entire period. investment process,” said Iñaki Arrola, General Partner at K Fund.

With Urbanitae you can invest in residential, commercial and industrial real estate projects. Its offer specializes in unique assets, differentials and with high potential for profitability. These returns can be obtained through an income strategy, which prioritizes the rental of the property; or a capital gains strategy, which prioritizes the potential for appreciation in the short term.
