Valencia-based MYSPHERA, a Spanish startup specialized in transforming healthcare systems through visibility and the optimization of healthcare processes through IoT solutions, closes a €2.5 million financing round.
With the latest funding, MYSPHERA will consolidate its leadership position in Spain while undertaking plans for international expansion in Europe, North America, and Latin America.
MYSPHERA has a Real-Time Location System product far superior to the competition
Financing came from the Spanish-Israeli manager Swanlaab Venture Factory, Banco Sabadell – through its vehicle Sabadell Venture Capital – and ALIAD (the venture capital investor of the Air Liquide Group).
Having developed its Real-Time Localization Systems (RTLS) for more than five years, MYSPHERA is revolutionizing the market with a new concept of health process management called “Hospital Process Manager.”
“This operation gives us the opportunity to bring our advanced hospital management solutions to new international markets, and thus improve the processes of hospitals globally, positively impacting the patients’ experience,” said MYSPHERA CEO Salvador Vera in a statement.
The Spanish company’s vision is to empower clinicians, patients, and Healthcare Management with smartsensor-driven, on-demand actionable information to improve patient care outcomes while increasing efficient management of resources in hospitals, senior living, and patient homes.
Healthcare providers win process visibility to improve efficiency, efficacy and optimization of resources in real time and thanks to data analisys. Patients win safety in the clinical process, and relatives get more satisfaction because they are informed in real time about the patient status in the clinical process and location.
The technological platform of MYSPHERA is able to measure real health processes, providing data and applications to professionals and administrators to improve the efficiency of their activities, saving time, costs and optimizing the occupation of the operating rooms with the consequent reduction of waiting lists. It also improves the clinical safety of patients and informs their relatives of their status in real time through screens in waiting rooms or a free App.
“MYSPHERA has a RTLS product (Real Time Location System) far superior to the competition and is penetrating a market with great potential in a very strong way,” said Veronica Trapa, Managing Director of Swanlaab Venture Factory.
“The need to optimize and manage health processes, both in the public and private sectors, is a priority and we must take advantage of the momentum to execute a scalable growth strategy in an impeccable manner,” she added..
Founded in 2012, MYSPHERA has a specific department that currently leads important European projects: ActiveAge Project, which uses IoT technology to improve the autonomy of people living alone, and the Operating Room 4.0 Project to optimize the surgical processes from the IoT and data analysis tools.
“The main objective of our venture capital division is to provide support in the first phases of life to the entrepreneurial projects,” said BS Capital Director Raul Rodriguez.
“We seek to accompany companies with a technological and digital base, with high growth potential and innovative business models. Our support for MYSPHERA fits perfectly into this strategy, which includes investments in 17 companies to date,” he added.
MYSPHERA, has a presence in more than 45 reference hospitals, including Hospital de la Fe in Valencia, Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, Hospital de la Virgen del Rocío in Seville and St Joseph Hospital in Paris, among others.
