Since we launched this publication we’ve been paying a big chunk of our attention to the Spanish fintech startup sector, since companies like Kantox or peerTransfer -among many others- have been doing a remarkable job at disrupting various financial services from our very own country.
To help people understand the size of Spain’s fintech industry, we’ve put together a list of the main fintech sectors and its corresponding startups.
Our coverage of the industry won’t stop here, and in the near future we plan to publish various posts on the challenges local fintech startups face when they decide to be based in Spain (instead of London or Hong Kong, for example), how Spanish regulators impact their activities and other relevant topics.
This list of fintech startups in Spain is not definitive, and we’ll continue to update it regularly. If you feel like we’re missing a certain startup or sector, let us know in the comments.

Special thanks to David Pombar and Molpe for helping us put together the list.
¿No falta aquí Quaderno?
I don’t think invoicing startups should be included in a fintech list. I like Quaderno a lot, tho.
Agree with you @jaimenovoa:disqus. Sorry to bother
Nice list
Also, https://www.grow.ly/
Yo incluiria también: Bankimia.com
I don’t think comparison sites should be included in a fintech list.
Jaime,
Why? What is fintech for you?
Why not the financial products comparison sites?
For now I’d rather focus on pure product fintech companies and, maybe in the near future, open the list for more candidates.
Thanks for the suggestions! Will take a look and add them if necessary 🙂
Yo uso wallo.com y juraría que son de aqui. Bastante buenos además.
Thanks. I just don’t think they’re a fintech company.
Don’t you think they’re similar to Fintonic @jaimenovoa:disqus?
My bad. You’re right. At first sight it looked to me like invoicing software. Adding it to the list.
That’s it 🙂 They analyze your bank movements, really useful
Excelente el listado Jaime, echo en falta a Heyplease, a sociosinversores y seedquick como equitycrowdfunding. las de crowdfunding de recompensa tipo lanzanoso mymajorcamponyu no serían fintech?
Added.
Rocket Internet’s new online credit platform, Spotcap, is missing in this list. The company was launched in Spain last October. http://www.spotcap.es
Thanks Aline. Just added it.
Muy buena lista. Además ver a Ahorro.NET aquí me llena de orgullo y satisfacción 😉 Muchas gracias Jaime
Younique Money shut down amid a scandal a few months back. In P2P payments I would include Cashually and in receviables management, NoviCap (incorporated in the UK for easier access to funds and resources but main business in Spain, some founders Barcelona-based). Cool company.

Hi!
Would like to recommend you put in the radar http://www.iqapla.com. We are an automated trading marketplace designed to help the amateur trader manage his risks and be more successful. Just starting development tho.
Thanks Horacio! Let me know when you guys launch 🙂
Just stumbled upon this! I think “iwoca” is missing under alternative lending. They’ve been disrupting the Spanish market since September (www.iwoca.es)
Isn’t the company based in London?
iwoca UK is but I believe iwoca Spain was founded separately in Barcelona and operates only in Spain
You believe? Aren’t you an employee of iwoca in Barcelona? 🙂
I’ve been checking and I have the feeling the company is mostly British, with 99% of its employees there.
The case of Spotcap could be similar, but they launched first in Spain despite being (mostly) a Berlin-based company.
Haha I was trying to keep it on the down low 😉
Actually although the mother company is in London (iwoca UK) the independent international ones are based in Spain Germany and Poland respectively. They’re still very young companies and Iwoca Spain is making an impact in Spain, which is what matters, don’t you think?
It does matter, you’re right.
But I’m trying to put together a list of Spain-based fintech startups. If we’d take into account all of those from abroad who are active in the country, the list would have to be much longer 🙂
Jaime you should definitely check out mooverang. It is a personal finance Spanish app really cool that helps you to grow up your money! http://www.mooverang.es
Will check it out!
Hi, anyone can help to find a startup offering the following: prepaid cards to pay in every place with a TPV (not sure if there are more options but to do this it should probably be a VISA/MasterCard prepaid card) that are easy to top-up many times during the day through an API.
I found this one that maybe should be on the list http://www.sparkcard.es/en/ but I’m looking for more options
Hi Manuel, they are very young but try with https://ekuantia.es
Thanks David.
