Barcelona startup Binnakle, raises 125% of its crowdfunding goal, which will allow the gaming company to expand its innovative solutions internationally and in English.
Binnakle raised 100,000 euros – 125% of its funding target of 80,000 euros – thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube, with a total of 29 investors participating.
Billed as “the first game that boosts innovation in companies,” Binnakle Innovation Games is a company that offers gamified solutions to encourage innovation, creative thinking and disruption in organizations.
After the “excellent” reception that the game has had in the Latin American market, this capital increase aims to continue expanding its international development with the launch of Binnakle in the English version, the startup said, according to EFE Emprende.
“With this funding Binnakle will continue its growth path, which has reached break even (threshold of profitability) in 2017, and with some forecasts of turnover of 900,000 euros in 2019 – with a profitability of 35% – and 1.8 million euros in 2020,” said Phillipe Delespesse and Lourdes Cateura, managing partners at Inteligencia Creativa – the creators of the Binnakle methodology.
Marcelo Bechara, president of the Evoltis Group, led the funding round with 40,000 euros in cash, confirming his commitment to Binnakle after having invested in an earlier phase.
Bechara confirmed that, having Binnakle’s ‘partners’ through its innovation division, Innovis, in Argentina for two years, has allowed them to “see the full potential of gamification to work on innovation and co-creation in companies.”
With a presence in already 12 countries: Spain, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay, the Baltic Republics and Russia, the Barcelona-based startup will now look to enter the English-language market, widen its network, add new team members, and release a digital version.
By the end of this month, it is reported that Binnakle will launch Misión 0, the first 100% digital game to help companies transform any problem into concrete challenges, and which will allow them to work from different perspectives.
Binnakle was also selected by the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), which is being held right now in Madrid from January 17 to 21, to offer practical workshops for tourism professionals.
