The new Amazon store, Amazon Launchpad, comes to Spain to encourage emerging companies and Spanish startups to launch their products and sell them worldwide.
Amazon Launchpad opened its doors in Spain on Wednesday “for companies to showcase their products,” according to the director of the Amazon Spain Marketplace, Javier Alvira, EfeEmprende reported on Wednesday.
To bring the products of emerging companies to customers, the e-commerce giant is working in Spain with more than 10 crowdfunding platforms, venture capital firms, incubators and accelerators of startups.

“There is [already] financing, so what startups need now are sales, and that is where Launchpad can provide them with differential assistance,” said Agustín Moro, Global Head of Business Development and Strategic Alliances of Wayra via iNNOVA SPAIN.
In Spain, Amazon Launchpad has a selection of hundreds of innovative products from different categories such as electronics, food, toys, household items or products for body care, among others.
Users can find the products of several Spanish startups on the platform such as Andone, which sells multi-purpose bags for baby carriages, and CerQana, an easy-to-use smartphone for seniors and children.
“The trust of Amazon customers has been the basis of our company to successfully launch our brand,” said Irene Rodriguez, creator of Andone Dymamic Walks via Business Insider.
Amazon Launchpad also includes the products of other startups such as Ivy Health, which sells body analysis scales, and Janabebe, which sells car seat covers and adapters for babies.
Luca Cassina, Director EU Marketplace at Amazon Europe, pointed out that the store “is designed to empower entrepreneurs and help startups in carrying out inventory management, order delivery and much more, which allows them to focus their efforts on innovation.”
All emerging companies using Amazon Launchpad will have personalized product pages within their own platform, a package of marketing tools, access to Amazon’s global logistics network, and also to the company’s customer service.
Alvira stressed that the company’s goal is not to “arbitrate innovation,” but rather to “serve as a springboard for ‘startups’ and entrepreneurs to launch their innovations to the world.”
The included products will also be visible in the other seven markets where the platform operates in the United States, Canada, Mexico, France, United Kingdom, Germany and India, which will favor the internationalization of Spanish emerging companies.
In total, Amazon Launchpad has 2,100 startups around the world, more than 100 investment entities and a selection of 19,000 innovative products.
Amazon has been very active on the Iberian Peninsula this week, opening its first Amazon Web Services office in Portugal and partnering with Lisbon-based WeDo to help a “Tier-1 North American telecommunications” company combat fraud using AWS, according to Portugal Startups.
