Startup funding news:
  • Vigo-based automotive startup Xesol Innovation raised €40,000 from Udekta Capital
    Startup exits:
  • eShop Ventures has sold two of its stores, Mimub and Mamuky to Bilua. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Kippel01 says the company will go into administration soon

  • Interview with Ronan Bardet, managing director of EGI Group, an organisation that has just launched a new accelerator program in conjunction with Conector targeting SaaS startups building solutions for the e-commerce industry
Startup news:
  • Izanami Martínez will step down as president of the ‘Asociación Española de Startups’. Carmen Bermejo, current VP, will serve as interim director
  • Cabify is betting on the release of more VTC licenses to increase the availability of cars in Barcelona. The company has only 50 cars in the city, but could have 500 by the end of the year
Big tech news:
  • Telefonica to invest €150 million to bring fibre connections to all companies in the Canary islands
  • Spanish telco companies increased their revenues by 3.7% in January 2017, compared to the same month a year ago
  • El Confidencial looks into Mango’s strategy to increase online sales from today’s share of 11% of all revenues to 20% . El Pais also wrote about it
Tech and policy:
  • Valencia’s regional government has fined Airbnb, Homeaway and other similar companies for allowing apartments that have no tourism license on their platforms
