South Summit Madrid starts today: What to see and what to expect about the leading Spanish innovation event

South Summit Madrid 2023, the premier event in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, kicks off today at La Nave in Madrid. 

Co-organized by IE University, this eleventh edition of the event will run from June 7th to June 9th, attracting thousands of startups, investors, and company representatives, as well as 21 successful unicorns from around the world and approximately 600 internationally renowned speakers. 

The program of South Summit Madrid 2023 revolves around the theme ‘Today 2030’, aiming to bring the future closer to the present and reflect the upcoming challenges that the planet and society face through entrepreneurship.

It presents a unique opportunity to explore high-value connections and showcase the main trends influencing the global entrepreneurial and innovative ecosystem.

The most important topics of discussion

Sustainability and the health of the planet will be among the main topics of discussion at the eleventh edition of the South Summit this year. 

The event will feature John Elkington, founding partner, and CEO of Volans, a company that brings together sustainability, entrepreneurship, and innovation. 

Elkington is a global authority on corporate responsibility and sustainable development and has served as an advisor on ecology and sustainability for various multinational corporations. 

Prominent figures at South Summit Madrid 2023

The event continues attracting prominent entrepreneurship and innovation leaders for its eleventh edition. 

One of the notable participants announced for this edition is Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of the Ethereum blockchain network and the cryptocurrency Ether, the second-largest cryptocurrency in the world. 

Buterin, also known as the co-founder of ‘Bitcoin Magazine’ in 2012 and the youngest crypto billionaire according to Forbes, will share the keys to success for young entrepreneurs at South Summit Madrid 2023.

Joining Buterin are representatives and executives from 21 national and international unicorns, including Glovo, Cabify, and Creditas.

On the other hand, one of the highlights of this edition not to be missed, is the conversation between Pablo Isla, former CEO of Inditex and President of the International Advisory Board of IE University, and Pau Gasol, former athlete, investor, and advisor in sports and health projects. 

In addition to these prominent figures, South Summit Madrid 2023 will feature 600 internationally renowned speakers in innovation, entrepreneurship, and business, who will share their opinions and advancements on the latest trends impacting the ecosystem.
