Seville-based Ciclogreen, the online platform that offers gifts and discounts for sustainable travel by bicycle, carpool, and public transport, closes a funding round of €245,000 led by Ship2B.
The Spanish startup’s investment round included €120,000 led by Impact Equity BF, the investment vehicle of Ship2B, in which the investment fund of Iese and the business angels of SouthUp Ventures have also participated.
Funding was completed with €25,000 from Banco Sabadell and a subsidy of €100,000 from the European accelerator frontierCities2, according to La Vanguardia.
This injection of capital will go towards the growth of Ciclogreen with the expansion of its commercial team and to improve its services by adding new features.
Ciclogreen offers companies the ability to Create Challenges in order to reward their employees with gifts and discounts for cycling and walking to work.
The Spanish startup offers:
- A private incentive platform for Sustainable Mobility practices (trips by bicycle and / or on foot) within companies and other organizations.
- Promotion service for companies through its Rewards Catalog.
- Consulting
Ciclogreen was born with the hope of having a positive impact at an environmental and social level. Promoting sustainable mobility practices means actively collaborating in the fight against climate change by reducing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
The corresponding improvement in air quality due to the decrease in the number of private vehicles in circulation and the increase in pedestrian zones translate into an improvement in the quality of life in cities.
The Spanish startup, which belongs to the Tech4Climate Lab promoted by Ship2B, Aigües de Barcelona, IRTA, Torres, and Fundació Futur, is present in more than 40 cities and has more than 25,000 users who have traveled 4 million km by bike or walking, which amounts to more than 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide not emitted.
Tech4Climate, led by Juan Ignacio Zaffora, is an investment and acceleration platform for startups with a high social impact in the field of sustainability and the environment.
Zaffora was also a judge at last weekend’s Techstars Startup Weekend Social Impact Edition in Barcelona.
