On Tuesday, 12 early-stage companies will present in front of a group of investors for the first-ever Investors Day from the Acelera Startups Madrid program.
The program is funded by Spain’s Escuela de Organización Industrial (EOI) through financing from the European Union’s Next Generation fund and is managed by IMPACT Accelerator from ISDI, Spain’s digital business school. The free-accelerator program is one of four that are run by Impact, which is led by its director, Jesús Tapia.
During the investor day at ISDI’s Madrid headquarters, the startups which took part in the program will pitch their ventures in front of well-respected venture capitalists and angel investors, including Kibo Ventures, Startups y Encomenda and others.
Kibo Ventures is one of the largest VCs in southern Europe, and the founders of Nzyme, €200m technology private equity fund. Meanwhile, Encomenda is an early-stage VC firm created by entrepreneurs and managed by entrepreneurs. Based in Barcelona but with a presence across Spain, has launched three seed funds which have invested in over 30 portfolio companies.
A number of cool Spanish companies will present on Tuesday, including:
- KidFlit: A company that makes the parenting experience easier, more affordable and eco-friendly. The platform integrates a wide variety of products in good condition so that parents can save costs and rent only what their children need at each stage of their growth, without having to make large financial investments for stuff their kid will outgrow in a few months.
- Tenlow: A platform that redefines consumption with an innovative approach, prioritizing sustainability and the circular economy. Tenlow offers access to quality goods without the need to own them, which not only saves space and money, but also drives a more efficient economic flow.
- Resueltoos: An educational platform specialized in mathematics which automates classes and is capable of generating training sessions with an AI and video system. It detects learning problems, corrects the student on video and learns from their mistakes by adapting to them and sending them a personalized training plan.
- InQidea: A customisable business platform that adapts technology to the unique needs of each business or sector. Its mission is to connect entrepreneurs, freelancers and SMEs in a distraction-free space, driving growth and collaboration through collective intelligence.
- GivitNFT: A platform that helps entrepreneurs and projects create their first community by using Web3 technology as a tool to engage audiences with social media challenges in exchange for digital rewards.
- Distrify: An innovative music aggregator that seeks to add tools for mechanical rights management through the tokenization of musical assets to obtain royalty advances without assigning rights or relying on traditional loans.
- Maikai Pets: A brand of natural pet products committed to sustainability and social responsibility that is innovating with the introduction of artificial intelligence in the shopping experience.
- Graddus: An open guidance platform that allows educational institutions to improve their conversion funnel and students to make better decisions for their future through an AI system that helps them choose their next academic step based on their interests, aspirations and performance.
- Hablam: A tool that allows you to easily contact and communicate, via chat or video call, with like-minded people who want to talk about the topics you share, even if they do not belong to the same physical, social or professional environment.
- Perkss: A mobile app that allows consumers to access various loyalty programs in one place. Through Perkss, users can earn loyalty euros and other emotional rewards every time they shop at their favorite brands.
- Singularis: A B2B training company with innovative and virtual metrology that is developing virtual reality (VR) projects and new immersive technologies.
The startups began their journey at Acelera on 3 April, 2024, and benefitted from a 100% subsidized and customized acceleration program from IMPACT Accelerator and financed by the Next Generation fund within the framework of the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain.
The program included a training bootcamp, 1-on-1 mentoring, specialized mentoring on various topics, from primary market research to financing and investment; and networking events.
In total, the startups received 54 hours of workshops and group actions, as well as 40 hours of personalized mentoring focused on boosting the growth and development of their project, along with networking opportunities and access to financing.
The program will also host an Investors Day in Barcelona later this month for its cohort in that city.
